The First 24 Hour Race of Finale was run by Blu Bike in 1999 at the same time as a Bike Festival in Finale Ligure, organized by the national magazine TuttoMTB.   The event was huge, attracting thousands of people from all over Europe.   During the Festival, the USA Mountain Bike Hall of Fame came to Finale to celebrate the Europeans at the Hall of Fame for the first time.

Since that start the 24h race has grown year by year to over 2000 riders, increasing the international value and the global audience.   The success of the race has come from the mix of a race atmosphere with the fun party that gives the riders the best possible experience from the whole event.   To add to this mix, we have 6 live music concerts, the natural environment, food, beer, a big party, the sea and all our mountain bike friends from all over the world.

The course has the perfect mix of the trails of Finale, combining the most panoramic trails of the sea side with the freeride sections of the inland.   So, the track is a real Mountain Bike single track that combines technical sections with panoramic trails on the sea, steep uphills with fast and fun downhills.

We normally have Solo and Teams riding together at Finale, but for the 2012 WEMBO World Solo 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships there will be two separate events, spread over two weekends at the end of May.   This will allow the most people to experience Finale Ligure.

Riders can do the WEMBO World Solo 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships, and then join in the team race on the next weekend if they want.  In the teams race, Riders can choose to be part of a professional team, or just enjoy the trail in a big team which has more time to have fun at the Bike Festival.
